Dubai: India will take on arch-rivals Pakistan on September 5 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in the Women’s T20 Asia Cup, the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) announced on Wednesday.
The eight-team tournament will be held from August 28 to September 13. The opening match will feature Hong Kong against Thailand in Group A.
Group A comprises India, Pakistan, Thailand, Hong Kong and China, while defending champions Sri Lanka have been placed in Group B alongside Bangladesh, UAE and Indonesia.
The tournament will follow a single round-robin format in the group stage, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the semi-finals.
The first semi-final, featuring Group A winners vs Group B runners-up, will be played on September 10, while the second semi-final, between Group A runners-up and Group B winners, is scheduled for September 11. The final will be held on September 13.
In another key Group B fixture, defending champions Sri Lanka will face Bangladesh on September 6, while hosts UAE and Indonesia complete the group.
