Punjab E News (PEN News): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Punjab Working President Ashwani Sharma has strongly condemned the reported attack on Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Singh Badal in Nanded Sahib, Maharashtra.
Reacting to the incident, Ashwani Sharma said that political differences and disagreements are part of democracy, but violence cannot be justified under any circumstances.
Sharma said it was extremely unfortunate that such an incident took place on the sacred land of Takht Sri Hazur Sahib. He stressed that Punjab has already suffered through a prolonged period of violence and that maintaining peace, brotherhood and the rule of law should remain a priority.
Ashwani Sharma Prays for Sukhbir Badal’s Recovery
Ashwani Sharma also prayed for the speedy recovery and good health of Sukhbir Singh Badal. He urged the Maharashtra Government to conduct a fair and impartial investigation into the incident and take strict legal action against those responsible.
Sukhbir Badal Injured in Nanded Attack
Sukhbir Singh Badal was reportedly attacked near Gurdwara Mata Sahib Kaur after arriving in Nanded Sahib. Following the incident, he was taken to a private hospital for medical treatment.
According to preliminary information, Sukhbir Badal’s wife and MP Harsimrat Kaur Badal, along with other family members, were present with him at the time of the incident.
A police personnel deployed for Sukhbir Badal’s security was reportedly seriously injured while intervening during the attack.
Initial reports suggest that Sukhbir Singh Badal is out of danger, although the hospital has not yet released detailed medical information about his condition.
The incident has triggered reactions from political leaders across party lines, with calls for a thorough investigation and strict action against those responsible.
