Mohali: Two armed men allegedly opened fire at a builder’s office in Zirakpur on Friday morning, triggering panic in the area.
According to the information available, the attackers arrived at the project gate on a motorcycle and fired three rounds. One of the men got off the motorcycle and opened fire before the two fled from the spot.
Builder Amit Dua said he had been receiving death threats for around a year. He also claimed that members of his family had received threatening calls through WhatsApp.
Police reached the spot after receiving information about the firing and began an investigation. CCTV footage from cameras installed in the surrounding area is being examined to identify the attackers.
Police are also investigating the possible motive behind the incident, including whether it was linked to the alleged threats, a property dispute or another reason.
