RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat visits London as part of three-nation tour

London: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat arrived in London on Friday night during the final leg of his three-nation visit to the US, UK and Canada. Soon after his arrival, Bhagwat visited the Khalsa Jatha British Isles Gurdwara in London.

Bhagwat’s UK visit follows his engagements in the US and Canada. His programmes in Britain are being organised by Integral, a UK-based organisation. Several social and cultural organisations in the UK have welcomed the RSS chief during his visit.

Bhagwat arrived in the UK on September 2 as part of the RSS’s centenary-year outreach and has since held meetings with religious leaders from different faiths, academics, researchers and other prominent personalities.

During his UK engagements, Bhagwat has visited the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir in Willesden and the Khalsa Jatha British Isles Gurdwara. He is also scheduled to visit a Jain temple in London.

Community leaders’ event on September 6

A community reception and civilisational dialogue themed “Celebration of Oneness” is scheduled for September 6. The event has been initiated by Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh UK (HSS UK), a Hindu social and cultural organisation established in Britain in 1966, with support from Integral.

More than 310 community organisations and associations from across the UK are expected to participate in the event.
