Bathinda: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has cancelled the primary membership of Maur Mandi MLA Sukhvir Singh Maiserkhana over alleged anti-party activities after he publicly raised concerns over the condition of government schools and other issues.
The action came after Maiserkhana posted a nearly 15-minute Facebook Live video on Saturday in which he criticised his own government over the shortage of teachers in government schools. He became emotional while speaking about the issue and said he had repeatedly raised the matter with officials.
Maiserkhana, a first-time MLA, said he had also taken up the issue with the party high command, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, but claimed that the shortage of teachers had remained unresolved.
Following his public remarks against the party and government, AAP decided to suspend him and cancel his primary membership on the grounds of alleged anti-party activities.
