Woman accused of posing as PCS officer to marry AAP leader; six booked for alleged fraud

Fatehgarh Sahib: Police have registered a case against a woman and five others after she allegedly posed as a Punjab Civil Service (PCS) officer and married AAP leader and Market Committee Sirhind chairman Advocate Amarinder Singh Mandofal.

According to the complaint, the woman, identified as Manwinder Kaur, allegedly represented herself as a PCS officer before and during her marriage to Mandofal.

The wedding was attended by several senior AAP leaders and ministers, adding political attention to the case.

Mandofal allegedly discovered after the marriage that Kaur was not a PCS officer and had previously been married and had a son. He subsequently approached the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), alleging that important details about her identity and background had been concealed from him and seeking legal action.

Following an inquiry into the allegations, the district police registered a case against Kaur, her brother, mother and three others under provisions relating to cheating and other offences.

The allegations are under investigation, and the accused have not been convicted of any wrongdoing.
