Kapurthala: A 20-year-old man was found unconscious at a tubewell in a village in Kapurthala district on Thursday, with a suspected drug overdose believed to be the cause of his death.
Gurwinder Singh, a resident of Ghazipur village in Sultanpur Lodhi, was found unconscious at a tubewell in Toti village. He was taken to a hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
The incident came a day after Kapurthala police rescued two young brothers who had allegedly been drawn into drug use by an outsider.
The suspected overdose death has renewed concerns over drug-related incidents in the district. The cause of Singh’s death has not been officially confirmed.
