Home Ministry suspends FCRA licence of Centre for Policy Research
New Delhi: The Ministry of Home Affairs has suspended the FCRA licence of leading think tank Centre for Policy Research (CPR) for violation of laws. Officials gave this information. CpR and Oxfam India were under scrutiny after a survey drive by the Income Tax Department in September last year. Cpr’s FCRA licence was suspended for violation of laws, officials said.
Oxfam’s FCRA licence was suspended in January last year, following which the NGO filed a review petition in the Home Ministry. With the suspension of licences granted under the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA), CPR will not be able to receive any funds from abroad.
