Twitter removes blue ticks of everyone from Rahul Gandhi, CM Bhagwant Mann to Shah Rukh Khan

New Delhi: Micro-blogging site Twitter on Thursday removed Blue Tick from all legacy authenticated accounts. Now users appearing on Twitter who have confirmed the blue checkmark have subscribed to the Twitter Blue service and are paying. It costs $8 per month for web users and $11 per month for in-app users on iOS and Android.
Politicians like Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, Yogi Adityanath, Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi have lost their certified blue ticks due to Twitter’s decision to remove heritage certified blue ticks. While many B-town celebrities including Bollywood stars Shah Rukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Alia Bhatt, cricketers Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma have lost their blue ticks. Till now, microblogging site Twitter used to issue certified blue checkmarks without any charge under the ‘notable’ category.
