Farmers block Pathankot-Amritsar highway to protest against police action in Patiala
Punjab E News: Leaders and activists of various farmer organisations also staged a chakka jam on the Pathankot-Amritsar national highway here to protest against the alleged manhandling of peacefully protesting farmers by the Punjab government in Patiala. The jam led to queues of vehicles for several kilometres. On getting information about the sit-in by the farmers, the local police administration had a tough time and senior officers of Batala police reached the spot.

Meanwhile, the protesters raised slogans against the Punjab government and strongly condemned the atrocities committed on the peacefully protesting farmers. On the other hand, the passersby trapped in the jam in the extreme heat appeared to be very upset.
