Sensex crosses 77,000-mark for the first time, Nifty hits new highs

New Delhi: Domestic markets rallied in early trade today and the Sensex breached the 77,000-mark for the first time in a row for the fourth straight session.

Domestic markets rallied a day after Narendra Modi was sworn in as prime minister for the third time on Sunday. The 30-share BSE Sensex rose 385.68 points to a new record high of 77,079.04 in early trade. The NSE Nifty rose 121.75 points to its all-time high of 23,411.90.
