Militants attack CM’s security convoy in Manipur

New Delhi: Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh’s security convoy was attacked by suspected militants and one person was injured in the attack.

The convoy was on its way to violence-hit Jiribam district. Several bullets were fired at the vehicles of the security forces, which gave a befitting reply.

According to the information received, firing is going on on National Highway-53. The chief minister, who is yet to reach Imphal from Delhi, was planning to visit Jiribam to take stock of the situation in the district.
