‘Will shut down in India if forced to break encryption’: WhatsApp to HC

New Delhi: Social media platform WhatsApp has refused to remove encryption in the Delhi High Court and has clearly said that it will leave India if it is asked to remove the encryption. WhatsApp has told the Delhi High Court that if the message encryption is forced to break, it will be effectively shut down in India.

Meta-owned WhatsApp said it protects users’ privacy by ensuring end-to-end encryption. Through this, it is ensured that only the sender and receiver can know the content inside.
