BJP workers cash with protesting farmers in Amritsar, case registered

Chandigarh: An FIR has been registered against BJP workers who came to throw bricks and stones at the farmers who came to protest against the Bharatiya Janata Party’s program in Amritsar, Punjab.

At the time of this incident, the police administration was also present there. After the incident, the farmers surrounded the Amritsar Rural SSP office and demanded registration of an FIR. About half a dozen farmers were injured in this entire incident.

The incident took place on April 17. The programme was organised by BJP leader Mukhwinder Singh Mahal at village Bhattewad under Lopoke in Amritsar.

After receiving the information, the activists of the Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee reached with flags. After which the main BJP campaigners of village Bhittewad Jagbir Singh and Kewal Singh started arguing with the farmers.

After investigation, the police have registered a case against the two under sections 323, 324, 506 and 34 under IPC 1860 on the complaint of farmers.
