Case of extortion registered against suspended AIG Sidhu and two others

Mohali News: A case has been registered against suspended AIG Of Punjab Police Malvinder Singh Sidhu under sections of extortion, bribery and cheating by the Vigilance. 
       The officer is already under judicial custody for allegedly manhandling a vigilance officer. He is accused of extorting ransom by blackmailing government officials and employees by posing as officers posted in vigilance. 
       The vigilance has also booked Kuldeep Singh, a driver of food, public supplies and consumer affairs department, and Balbir Singh, a resident of village Alampur in Patiala district, on charges of misusing their positions, cheating government employees, extortion and taking bribe. 
     Malvinder Singh Sidhu, who has been serving as AIG of Human Rights Cell Punjab Police since 2017, has never served in the posts of AIG or IG in the Vigilance Bureau in the last five years.
