CBI arrests senior horticulture officer for demanding Rs 5 lakh bribe
Punjab E News: The CBI has arrested a senior horticulture officer of the National Horticulture Board, Gurugram, in connection with a bribery case of Rs 5 lakh.
The CBI registered a case against the senior horticulture officer on the basis of a complaint in which he is accused of demanding a bribe of Rs 5 lakh from the complainant for releasing the subsidy amount in favour of the complainant as per the scheme of the Government of India implemented by the National Horticulture Board for horticulture activities.
The CBI laid a trap in which the accused was caught red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 5 lakh from the complainant. Searches were conducted at three locations in the premises of the accused in Jhunjhunu (Rajasthan) and Gurugram during which incriminating documents related to property, bank details, investment details and relevant files related to the complainant’s case were recovered.
The arrested accused was produced before the competent court in Panchkula (Haryana) and sent to judicial custody.
