CBI registers case against 24 people, including government officials, for issuing passports on the basis of forged documents

Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has booked 24 persons, including government officials, for allegedly issuing passports on the basis of forged documents. The CBI is also conducting raids at 50 locations in West Bengal and Gangtok in connection with the case. The CBI has also detained the officer and the broker posted in Gangtok.
As many as 24 persons, including 16 officials, have been named in the FIR registered for allegedly issuing passports on the basis of forged documents to ineligible persons, including non-residents, by taking bribes. According to officials, raids are being conducted in Kolkata, Siliguri, Gangtok and other places.
