Court sends AAP MLA Amit Rattan to police custody till March 2
Chandigarh: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA from Bathinda Rural Amit Rattan has been sent to police custody till March 2 by a court here in connection with a bribery case.
Rashim Garg, a close aide of the MLA, was remanded in judicial custody till March 10. On this occasion, DSP Kulwant Singh has told that the MLAs are not cooperating in the interrogation. They said that some papers have been found from the MLA’s Chandigarh residence which are being examined.
The Vigilance has so far raided the houses of the accused and many other places and recovered about Rs 1.31 lakh taken as bribe. Rashim Garg had taken Rs 2.50 lakh in advance from the nambardar and Rs 50,000 from the sarpanch’s husband, in which the vigilance team recovered Rs 1.31 lakh from his house during the search operation, while Rashim Garg has confessed to keeping Rs 1.69 lakh in different places in his statements. So far, the Vigilance Department has recovered Rs 5.31 lakh from Risham Garg.
