DSP arrested in corruption case in Punjab
Ferozepur: The Punjab police arrested DSP Surinder Pal Bansal of the city Ferozepur here in connection with a corruption case. The DSP was named in a case registered at police station Cantonment a few days ago. The DSP was booked for allegedly taking bribe through a broker. After investigation, it came to light that the bribe amount had been deposited in Bansal’s bank account.
Gurmej Singh, son of Rafiq, a resident of Kothi Rai Sahib here, was booked last year for allegedly duping a girl of Rs 7 lakh on the pretext of getting her recruited as TTE in the railways. The police station came under DSP Bansal. Bansal had proved Gurmej Singh innocent during his investigation.
