Gangster who killed constable shot dead by Punjab police

Chandigarh: Gangster Jarnail Singh, also known as Rana Mansurpuria, who killed a senior constable in Hoshiarpur, Punjab, was shot dead by the police. He had shot senior constable Amritpal Singh during an encounter in Mukerian on Sunday (March 17) and then managed to escape.

Some people noticed him pouring petrol on a motorcycle at a petrol pump on Monday morning. The police were informed and began to pursue him.

He was eventually encountered and killed at a deserted place in Bhangla, Hoshiarpur, where the police force is still deployed. Access to the area is restricted, and no one is allowed to approach the spot.
