HC rejects parole plea of former Bihar CM Beant Singh’s killer Paramjit Singh
Chandigarh News: The Punjab and Haryana High Court on Friday refused to grant parole to Paramjit Singh Bhayora, an accused in the murder case of former Punjab chief minister Beant Singh. Bhayora had filed a petition in the High Court on Monday seeking parole.
In his petition, Bhayora said he wanted to attend his niece’s wedding in Delhi on October 29. He should be granted parole for six hours from 6 am to 2 pm on October 29. A vacation bench headed by Justice Vinod Bhardwaj dismissed the demand after hearing all the parties. Bhayora has been in Chandigarh’s Burail jail for the last 27 years and is serving a life sentence.
