NIA receives terror threat email, alert issued in several cities

New Delhi: The National Investigation Agency has received an email threatening to carry out terror attacks in Mumbai. The accused, who made the email, claimed to be a member of the Taliban.

After receiving the email, the NIA informed the Mumbai Police about it. After this, an alert has been issued in many cities of Maharashtra including Mumbai.
Sources in Mumbai Police say that the person who sent this email has claimed that he himself is a Talibani and has said that there may be a terrorist attack in Mumbai.
Earlier in January, Mumbai’s Dhirubhai Ambani International School also received a threat call for a terrorist attack. The caller had threatened to blow up the school with a bomb. However, nothing of that sort was found in the investigation.
In October last year, the police received a similar call, in which it was said that bombs were planted in many areas of the city. The caller had told that there was information about a bomb at Infinity Mall, PVR Mall Juhu, Sahara Hotel Airport located in Andheri, Mumbai. After which security arrangements were tightened in the city.
