Pedestrian killed by BMW driver in Jalandhar

Jalandhar: A speeding BMW struck a pedestrian near Khambra on the Jalandhar Nakodar Highway in Punjab, resulting in his immediate death.

The BMW, traveling at high speed, mounted the divider due to a loss of steering control, causing extensive damage to the vehicle. The owner of the BMW resides in Aldico Green.

The deceased, identified as Rakesh Kumar, was employed at a Pepsi company.

According to the BMW driver, the vehicle’s tire got busted, leading to the collision with the pedestrian on the divider, resulting in his immediate death. It has also been reported that the driver was under the influence of alcohol.

Manoj, the brother of the deceased Rakesh, said that deceased belonged to an economically weaker section and survived with wife and two children.

Police said that the investigation is underway and accused will be arrested.
