Police constable arrested for robbing gold worth Rs 2.75 crore

A police constable has been arrested for allegedly robbing an employee of a Gujarat-based company of gold worth Rs 1.75 crore in Punjab, police said on Tuesday. 
    The accused constable, Ashish Kumar, is posted at Abohar City police station in Fazilka district. The gold robbery incident took place at Sangrur railway station and a total of 4 people were involved in it. Two of them were wearing police uniforms, police said. 
     Bathinda police have recovered the looted gold on Monday itself. The rest of the accused involved with constable Ashish in the incident have not yet come to the hands of the police.
     In the complaint given to the Bathinda police, a young man named Sahil said that he works in Sribright Majestic Company. The office of this company is in Surat city of Gujarat. This company makes and supplies gold on order.
     An employee named Raju Ram of his company was coming from Delhi to Bathinda in a train carrying 3 kg 760 grams of gold ornaments. These gold ornaments were in a bag. When the train reached Sangrur railway station, 4 unidentified people snatched the bag from Raju Ram and escaped.
