Police crackdown on fake immigration companies in Chandigarh; 57 cases registered in four days

Chandigarh: In the name of sending abroad, people flourishing in the city are being cheated by the fraud. In the last one week, 47 immigration company operators have been booked under CrPC-188 i.e. violation of DM’s instructions.
Sections of cheating have also been added to 10 cases in which complaints of victims were received. SSP Kanwardeep Kaur has instructed all the SHOs to crack down on all such thugs sitting in their area.
    Six FIRs have been registered under the Sector-36 police station in a single day. A case of cheating of Rs 55.04 lakh has been registered against Pooja Mahajan, Lavish Mahajan, Vivek Soni and Gogi Mehra, directors of iAbroad Education Immigration Company in Sector 42.
     A case has been registered against Pooja and Lavish under sections 420, 406 and 24 of the Immigration Act. A case of cheating of Rs 5.91 lakh has been registered on the complaint of Harinder Pal Singh, a resident of Moga, and Rs 7.31 lakh on the complaint of Dilraj Singh of Faridkot.
      A case of cheating of Rs 16.21 lakh has been registered at the Sector 36 police station on the complaint of three complainants – Inderbir Singh of Gurdaspur, Rajbir of Amritsar and Anil Kumar of Una. On the complaint of Manjit Kaur, a resident of Sector-80 Mohali, Rs 5.45 lakh, on the complaint of Manpreet Kaur of Gurdaspur, Rs 13.61 lakh, a case of cheating of Rs 6.91 lakh has been registered on the complaint of Jagtar Singh of Landran.
At the same time, 4 cases of fraud have been registered in the Sector-34 police station in a single day, in which a total of Rs 30.50 lakh has been duped. Bharat Kumar Sahni and others were duped of Rs 4.51 lakh by the accused AJ Group overseas managers on the pretext of getting them visas to Tanzania.
Rahul Narula, the owner of Path Words, has been booked under sections 406, 420 and 34 of the Immigration Act on the complaint of a woman from Moga. In this case, there is an allegation of cheating of 3.13 lakh on the pretext of getting a Canadian PR.
       On the complaint of Gurkirat Kaur of Pabhat Zirakpur, a case has been registered against Harmeet Singh of TCG Consultant for duping him of Rs 6.41 lakh. On the complaint of Ajaib Singh of Moga, a case has been registered against the Blue Sphere Immigration operator for duping him of Rs 16 lakh on the pretext of sending him to Canada.
