Sacrilege attempt at Kali Mata temple in Patiala
Patiala: The youth tried to commit sacrilege at the famous and ancient Sri Kali Devi temple in Patiala but was immediately overpowered by the priests. The accused has been identified as Manjit, who tried to move near the throne of the holy idol of the Sri Kali Mata. SSP Varun Sharma reached the spot and took stock of the situation. He assured the organisers and other religious leaders that appropriate action would be ensured against the accused.
After this, the police arrangements between the temple and the temple area have been further tightened. Inspector Harjinder Singh Dhillon, SHO, Civil Lines police station, Ranjit Singh Ritu, in-charge of Model Town outpost and Baljit Singh, in-charge of traffic police, were among those present on the spot.
