Sexual harassment case: Chandigarh Police files charge sheet against Haryana minister Sandeep Singh in court
Chandigarh News: The Chandigarh Police has submitted its final report against Haryana minister Sandeep Singh in a sexual assault case to a court here. The chargesheet was filed nearly eight months after the case was registered. The police submitted the report to the chief judicial magistrate’s court here. The Chandigarh Police has named Sandeep Singh as an accused in the case under sections 342, 354, 354A, 354B, 506 and 509 of the IPC.
Now that the arguments on the charges involved in the challan will begin, Sandeep Singh is required to appear on the next appearance of the court. Dipanshu Bansal, the lawyer for the woman coach, who has accused the minister of harassment, wrote on X, “Though the charge sheet has been filed eight months after the complaint, it still does not mention the allegations of attempt to rape. The women’s coach was suspended by the Haryana Sports Department on August 11 as part of disciplinary action.”
