UP Police seizes 765 boxes of liquor being smuggled from Punjab to Bihar in potato truck
The Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) has seized 765 boxes of liquor being smuggled from Punjab in a consignment of potatoes going to Bihar. Despite the complete ban on liquor in Bihar, the criminal network continues to supply liquor.
According to the information received, the STF team carried out the operation in the jurisdiction of Maharajpur police station of Prayagraj.
During the operation, 765 boxes of liquor, valued at around Rs 1 crore, were recovered from the truck.
The truck driver has been arrested. During interrogation, the accused revealed that the liquor was being transported from Punjab to Bihar, where it was to be sold at a higher price.
