Youth stabs minor girl to death, younger sister dies in shock in Patiala

Patiala: A 15-year-old girl was stabbed to death by a youth in Sanjay Colony of the city late last evening. The girl’s six-year-old sister also died due to shock over the incident early this morning.

Police have registered a case of murder against the assailant and his accomplice and launched a search.

It was learned that the same youth was booked last year on charges of abducting the girl.

BJP Mahila Morcha state president Jaiinder Kaur, who reached the victim’s family’s house, shared her grief with the family and also criticized the government.

“What is the use of the government buying expensive vehicles when the police cannot ensure the safety of life and property of people, even children?” she asked.

Inspector Harjinder Singh Dhillon, SHO of Banne police station Kutwali, said the accused would be nabbed very soon.
