Jammu and Kashmir on new heights of development after abrogation of Article 370: PM Modi

Srinagar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday said that Jammu and Kashmir is reaching new heights of development and breathing freely after the abrogation of Article 370 of the Constitution.

Addressing a public meeting here, Modi accused the Congress of not only misleading the people of Jammu and Kashmir but also the entire country on Article 370. The Prime Minister conveyed his best wishes for the upcoming holy month of Ramzan and the festival of Mahashivratri.

“Jammu and Kashmir is experiencing newfound development today and a sense of freedom in its air,” Modi said after inaugurating several development projects.

He expressed his happiness to be with the people of Srinagar. Earlier in the day, Modi arrived in Srinagar to participate in the ‘Developed India, Developed Jammu and Kashmir’ program. He inaugurated several development projects worth over Rs 6,400 crore.

This is the prime minister’s first visit to the Kashmir Valley after the abrogation of Article 370 in August 2019. The Prime Minister landed at the airport here and then flew to Badamibagh Cantonment, the headquarters of the Army’s 15 or Chinar Corps.

Modi will lay a foundation stone at the War Memorial at Badamibagh Cantonment and pay homage to the martyred soldiers.
