12 students suspended for assaulting professor in Punjabi University
In the assault case of Professor Surjit Singh of Punjabi Department, 12 students has been suspended. The university has banned the entry of all these students into the campus.
These students will be able to come inside the university to take the exam.
It may be recalled that on the night of September 13, after the university student died due to illness at her home in Bathinda, she was beaten up by a mob of students, accusing the professor of the Punjabi department of misbehaving with the student and forcing her to commit suicide.
The matter was investigated by a former judge in this regard. After this, the police of Police Station Urban Estate had registered cases against many students.
