64-year-old granthi arrested in US for sexually assaulting girl

Washington: A 64-year-old granthi of a gurdwara in Pennsylvania has been arrested on charges of sexually assaulting a girl for nearly seven years. The granthi started exploiting the girl when she was five years old and continued to do so for seven consecutive years.

Balwinder Singh, a resident of Drexel Hill in Delaware County, has been charged with a number of charges, the media report said. 
The victim, who is now an adult, lodged a complaint at the police headquarters on January 24 this year with the intention of “seeking justice”. In her recorded statement, she said the sexual abuse started when she used to go to the gurdwara to hold gurmat music classes.
