Hoshiarpur: Upgradation, Increasing facilities and Capacity Building in all state educational institutions is the main target of the Punjab government. The government’s efforts and work on this subject are continuing. The government under the leadership of Hon’ble Chief Minister Punjab S. Bhagwant Singh Mann is continuously taking positive decisions by knowing the ground realities, planning, and through high-level meetings. Even the monitoring is also continuing. In the last cabinet meeting, the staff of two different state universities of Punjab has been given the benefits of pay commission and successful steps have been taken towards making the big university of Punjab financially capable through the annual budget. This information has been shared by Sh. Bram Shankar Jimpa, Minister of Revenue, Rehabilitation and Disaster Management, Govt of Punjab. Cabinet Minister Bram Shankar Jimpa was addressing the Annual Tech Fest of I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University (Hoshiarpur Campus of IKG PTU) at Hoshiarpur on February 28. He appreciated the activities of the campus and gave an assurance regarding the implementation of Pay Commission at IKGPTU by the Punjab Government soon. He also shared information transparently about the steps being taken in this regard recently.
Director, IKGPTU Hoshiarpur Campus Prof. (Dr.) Yadwinder Singh Brar and the University team warmly welcomed Cabinet Minister Sh. Bram Shankar Jimpa. The welcome message sent by University Registrar Dr. S.K. Misra was also shared. The event was organized to encourage students to innovate, establish and experiment in interesting arts and competitions. Students from various educational institutions affiliated to the university participated in this tech fest with great enthusiasm. Gaming-Coding, Quiz, Drawing, Dastar Bandi, Poster Making, Mehndi Competition, Rangoli Competition, Paper Presentation, Giddha, Bhangra, Solo Dance, Singing, Skit, Modeling and other cultural competitions were conducted in Tech-Fest.
At the beginning of the event, ceremony lighting the lamp was made by the chief guest Cabinet Minister Bram Shankar Jimpa, Director Prof. (Dr) Brar, Deputy Registrar Gaganjot Singh Malhi, Coordinator of the Event Dr. Sunil Kumar, & Mansi Gera. Director Prof (Dr) Brar shared inspirational words with the students. He encouraged the students to participate in co-curricular activities for their overall development. A total of 200 students from 04 universities and polytechnic institutes participated in the fest. At the end of the event, the chief guest Cabinet Minister Bram Shankar Jimpa distributed the prizes among the winning students.
