Breaking: Punjab Assembly dissolved, Governor invites nomination
Lahore: The Legislative Assembly of Pakistan’s Punjab province has been dissolved. Punjab Governor Baligur Rehman refused to sign the advice of Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi.
Elahi had on Thursday sent a suggestion to dissolve the assembly on the wishes of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan.

The governor did not sign the advisory. After this, the Assembly was dissolved 48 hours after the advisory was sent to the Governor as per the Constitution. “I have decided not to be a part of the process of dissolution of The Punjab Vidhan Sabha. Instead, I will let the Constitution and the law do its job. Doing so will not hamper any legal process as the Constitution clearly lays down the next course of action in this regard. ”
