Centre to send notice to Google over Gemini AI’s ‘biased’ response to query on PM Modi
New Delhi: The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology is preparing to issue a notice to Google for giving a controversial and potentially illegal reply to its Artificial Intelligence (AI) platform Gemini’AI.
A user has shared a screenshot on X about how an objectionable answer was given when asked questions about Prime Minister Narendra Modi
In the screenshot shared in this regard, the user asked Gemini’AI if Prime Minister Modi is a ‘fascist’, to which he replied that he has been accused of implementing policies that some experts have described as ‘fascist’. When a similar question was asked about former US President Donald Trump, Gemini’AI asked the user to go to Google for accurate information
“This action is in direct violation of various sections of the IT Act and the Criminal Act,” IT Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar said on X. It is worth mentioning that Google’s AI platform has given controversial answers to the questions asked about Prime Minister Modi in the past. There has been a tussle between government officials and tech corporations over the legal framework governing AI platforms such as Gemini’AI and ChatGPT.
