Donald Trump to implement key immigration reforms after taking oath
Washington: Shortly after being sworn in as the 47th President of the United States, Donald Trump is expected to issue executive orders addressing immigration, border security, energy policies, and government recruitment. A close aide stated these orders are central to Trump’s agenda.
According to the Wall Street Journal, the scope of these changes highlights the administration’s intent to prioritize key reforms immediately.
In a significant announcement, Trump declared the return of TikTok, a popular short-video app used by 170 million Americans. The app was shut down on Saturday under a recently enacted law.
Trump plans to sign an executive order delaying the law’s implementation, allowing TikTok to resume operations within 24 hours.
Trump also proposed a joint venture to resolve the issue, suggesting the U.S. government retain 50% ownership of TikTok.
He said that the move as being in the nation’s interest and projected the app’s valuation could reach $1 trillion. “If TikTok is not approved, it will be shut down. If approved, we will involve several investors in the partnership,” he added.
