Indian-origin couple and their daughter killed in ‘suspicious’ fire in Canada: Police
Ottawa: Three people were killed in a “suspicious” house fire in Canada’s Ontario province last week. Those who lost their lives in the fire have been identified as an Indian-origin couple and their daughter, police said on Friday.
In a press release, Peel Police said a suspicious fire broke out at a home in the Big Sky Way and Van Kirk Drive area of Brampton on March 7.
When police searched the house after the fire was extinguished, human remains were found there, but the identity and number of those who died could not be ascertained at that time.
The deceased were identified Friday as Indian-origin Rajiv Wariku, 51, his wife Shilpa Kotha, 47, and daughter Mehak, 16. They lived at the same address before the fire broke out, police said.
