Indian-origin woman arrested for assaulting 89-year-old man at care centre in Canada

Toronto: A 32-year-old Indian-origin employee has been arrested for allegedly assaulting an 89-year-old man at a care home in Canada’s Ontario province, police said.

Suman Soni, 32, has been charged with two counts of assault on January 29 and February 2. Police said they were contacted on February 2 in connection with incidents of elder abuse.

During the investigation, the police found that the 89-year-old man was attacked twice by a personal support worker on January 29 and February 2.

Police said they should come forward if there is any other victim.
