Punjab government working on public welfare and development oriented agenda- Balkar Singh 

Jalandhar: Punjab Local Bodies Minister Balkar Singh today said that Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann led state government was working on a development and welfare-oriented agent so as to ensure all round development of the state.

      The Minister was taking stock of the progress of the ongoing development projects in the villages of Kartarpur constituency wherein he asked the officials to ensure individual supervision of the development works so that they can be completed within the stipulated time. 
 
Presiding over a meeting with the officials of the Rural Development and Panchayat Department here, the Cabinet Minister said that the Punjab government was executing development works in the villages at war footing to facilitate people living in rural areas at par with cities. 

He further directed the officials to personally monitor the ongoing development works including construction of sewerage, water supply, streets and drains in the villages and said that the quality of the development works must be checked at every stage as any kind of compromise in the quality will be highly unwarranted.  
 
Giving instructions to the officials to regularly review the development projects, the Minister said that this will help in speeding up the pace of development works. He also said that Punjab is working on a development-oriented agenda and is continuously working for the all-round development of every village, town and city. 
 
He further mentioned that the officials should also perform their duties diligently to percolate the benefit of welfare schemes at ground level by covering all the eligible beneficiaries in the welfare program of Punjab Government.

He said that the state government is committed to ensuring holistic development of the villages as there was no paucity of funds for this cause. He said that work is being done on war footing with respect to construction of concrete streets, sewage system, street lights, and health facilities etc. 
 
On this occasion, Punjab State Container and Warehousing Corporation Chairperson Rajwinder Kaur Thiara, Aam Aadmi Party leader Harpreet Kaur, District Development and Panchayat Officer Zeenat Khaira, and concerned BDPOs were also present.
