Jaahnavi Kandula case: US cop who ran over Indian student to not face criminal charges
Washington: The Seattle police officer who rammed Indian student Jahnavi Kandula into his car will not face criminal charges due to lack of evidence.
The King County prosecutor’s office said it would not file criminal charges against Seattle Police Officer Kevin Dave. Kandula, 23, was killed in a collision with a police vehicle while crossing a road in Seattle in January last year.
Dave was driving the police car. He was driving at a speed of over 119 kmph to reach the spot after receiving information about drug cases. Kandula was hit by the car so hard that she fell 100 feet away.
In footage released by police, officer Daniel Order was seen laughing after the fatal accident and denied Dave’s mistake.
