Khalistani leader Mahal Singh Babbar cremated in Pakistan
Lahore: The family of Khalistani leader Mahal Singh Babbar, associated with the Babbar Khalsa International (BKI), has confirmed his death in Pakistan. He was cremated on March 26.
According to media reports, Mahal Singh’s family in Punjab had earlier denied reports of his death at a private hospital in Nankana Sahib. The 85-year-old had been facing health issues due to old age and was admitted to the hospital before passing away.
Mahal Singh was accused of involvement in violent incidents across multiple districts in India, including Amritsar and Faridkot. Dal Khalsa leader Kanwar Pal Singh Bittu said he was also accused of being involved in the 1995 assassination of then Punjab Chief Minister Beant Singh in a bomb blast.
