More than 90 dead as boat capsizes in Mozambique, most of them children killed

Harare: More than 90 people, including children, were killed when a boat capsized off Mozambique’s north coast. There were 130 people on board the boat and most of those who drowned are children.

The boat was operating between the island of Lunga and Mozambique in Nampula province in the north of the country when it capsized, the report said.

People panicked due to misinformation about the alleged cholera outbreak in Nampula and started running away from the area in a boat.
