One Indian killed, 2 injured in missile attack in Israel: Report

Jerusalem: An Indian national was killed and two others were injured on Monday after being hit by an anti-tank missile fired from Lebanon in an orchard near Margaliot on Israel’s northern border.

All the three men hail from the southern state of Kerala, officials said. Zaki Heller, spokesman for the rescue service Magen David Adom (MDA), told PTI that the missile landed at around 11 am on Monday in an orchard of Margliot in the Galilee region of northern Israel.

Patanibin Maxwell, hailing from Kollam in Kerala, was killed in the attack, official sources said. He said Bush Joseph George and Paul Melvin were also injured in the incident and were hospitalized for treatment.

“George was admitted to Billinson Hospital with injuries on his face and body. He has undergone an operation. He is recovering from injuries and is under observation. He can talk to his family in India,” he said.

Melvin suffered minor injuries and was taken to a zoological hospital in the northern Israeli city of Safed. He hails from Kerala’s Idukki district.
