Two arrested in Australia after clashes between supporters of Khalistan and India

Melbourne: Clashes broke out between Indian diaspora and Pro-Khalistan supporters in Australia during the referendum call given by the banned Sikhs for Justice for the creation of an independent Sikh state.

On Sunday, a group of pro-India supporters arrived at the polling booth in Federation Square, Melbourne, waving the national flag.
Victoria Police, which used pepper spray to disperse the protesters, said two men, aged 34 and 39, had been arrested and issued a fine notice.
Reacting to the videos, BJP leader Manjinder Singh Sirsa tweeted, “I strongly condemn the pro-Khalistani anti-India activities in Australia. Anti-social elements who are trying to disturb the peace and harmony of the country with these activities should be dealt with sternly. ’
