Internet shutdown in 7 districts of Punjab, CM Mann opposes suspension of services

Chandigarh: Internet services have been suspended in 7 districts of Punjab due to the farmers’ agitation despite the protest by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. Earlier, internet was disrupted in some areas of 3 districts adjoining Punjab and Haryana, but in the orders issued by the Union Home Ministry, its duration has been extended till 24 February.

 

These orders will affect the jurisdictions of 20 police stations. These orders have been issued by the Central Government under Section 7, Sub Rule 1, Offer Rule 2 of the Indian Telegraph Act, 1885.
