Two Indian-American scientists honoured with US’ highest scientific award
New Delhi: Two Indian-American scientists were awarded the National Medal of Technology and Innovation by US President Joe Biden at the White House. Two Indian-Americans – Ashok Gadgil and Subra Suresh – were awarded the National Medal for Technology and Innovation and the National Science Medal. The scientists who were felicitated at the event made discoveries enabling life-saving medical treatments, helping fight the opioid epidemic, improving food security, among others.
“Today, the President is honoring many Americans with the National Science Medal and the National Technology and Innovation Medal for those who have made exemplary achievements in science, technology, and innovation for the good of our nation,” the White House said.
