Diljit Dosanjh reschedules Delhi concert from November 1 to October 30 after MP’s appeal

New Delhi: Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh has rescheduled his Delhi concert, originally planned for November 1, 2026, to October 30 following an appeal by Rajya Sabha MP Vikramjit Singh Sahney.

The announcement came a day after Sahney urged the singer to reconsider the date out of sensitivity towards families affected by the 1984 anti-Sikh riots.

Sahney pointed out that November 1 remains a painful reminder for many survivors and families who lost loved ones during the violence.

Welcoming the decision, the Punjab MP thanked Dosanjh and the concert organisers for considering his request.

“I sincerely thank Diljit Dosanjh for graciously accepting my request,” Sahney said, describing the singer as a proud son of Punjab, a turbaned global icon and an inspiration to millions.

He added that Dosanjh’s sensitivity towards the suffering of victims and their families reflected the empathy and responsibility associated with his public standing.
