Chandigarh: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has revised the date for questioning former Punjab chief secretary Anurag Verma. He was earlier asked to appear before the agency on Monday, but his appearance has now been deferred by two days to September 9.
The change was made by the ED on its own and Verma, a senior IAS officer, was informed about the revised date through email. He had earlier been summoned for August 31 but had requested that his appearance be postponed.
Before Verma, another senior IAS officer, Kanwalpreet Brar, was summoned twice on August 18 and 27 for questioning in connection with the probe.
The ED is examining issues related to the change of land use (CLU) approvals and modifications in the layout of the Suntec City housing project in Mohali.
The officials concerned have maintained that they did not violate any rules or regulations and have denied providing any undue benefit or favouritism to any builder.
