Hoshiarpur: Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Saturday ruled out the possibility of an alliance between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) for next year’s Punjab Assembly elections.
Saini, who was in Punjab as part of the BJP’s ‘Nasha Mukt Punjab Yatra’, said the BJP’s alliance was with the people and that the party would form the next government in the state with their support.
Speaking to reporters in Tanda, Hoshiarpur district, Saini accused previous governments of failing to address the drug problem and claimed that the situation had worsened under the Aam Aadmi Party government.
He said the BJP campaign aimed to encourage young people to stay away from drugs and appealed to people to join efforts to make Punjab drug-free.
