New Delhi: Major Singh, a key operative allegedly linked to the Jaggu Bhagwanpuria gang, has been added to the US Federal Bureau of Investigation’s (FBI) most wanted list.
According to an FBI release, Singh is wanted for his alleged involvement in an international criminal organisation and faces charges related to a racketeering conspiracy, conspiracy to engage in unlicensed firearms dealing, conspiracy to distribute controlled substances and possession of controlled substances with intent to distribute.
The Jaggu Bhagwanpuria organised crime group originated in Punjab and has allegedly operated in California’s Central District and elsewhere.
Federal arrest warrant issued in June
A federal arrest warrant for Singh was issued on June 25, 2026, by the US District Court for the Central District of California in Los Angeles. He was subsequently charged with racketeering conspiracy and conspiracy to engage in the business of dealing in firearms without a licence.
The FBI had earlier released images of Amritpal Singh, 30, who died in February 2025, and another Indian national from Punjab identified as Gurpreet Singh.
Part of wider international crackdown
In June, jailed Punjabi gangsters Lawrence Bishnoi and Jaggu Bhagwanpuria were among 37 accused named in a US-led crackdown targeting international organised crime networks under Operation Hard Ball.
The operation, involving the FBI and Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), targeted the Ravinder Dhanda, Bishnoi and Bhagwanpuria networks. Investigators reportedly seized around 1,000 kg of cocaine, 1 kg of heroin, firearms and cash, while several suspects remain at large.
The investigation alleges that the networks operated across India, the US, Canada, the UK, Europe, Australia and New Zealand, with alleged involvement in contract killings, extortion, racketeering, drug trafficking, firearms offences and kidnapping.
